The IFC has been involved with Casa Hogar since 2002. Casa Hogar is a shelter for children (Group Home) who come from various backgrounds, some are orphans with living relatives that can not care for them financially. Some are orphans without families and many of them come from traumatic situations. This home provides not only shelter and food, but also provides schooling for the children including college should they wish to continue with higher education. If you are interested in volunteering at Casa Hogar we need help in the following areas:
- Arranging and hosting parties for the children at the home.
- Providing or sponsoring dental care.
- Sponsoring glasses - vision.
- Fruit fund - fruit is delivered weekly.
- Coming soon - English classes.
- Donating pantry items, children´s clothing (age 4y to 20y).
- Furniture - especially bedroom furniture.
In 2019 we took on a project to provide dental care to all the children of the Casa Hogar de San Juan. At the time, nobody imagined just how great the need was or how big this project would become…
With the help of the generous donations to the IFC Tooth Fairy initiative and the time and expertise donated by . Elsa together with her Dentocare team, we have made incredible progress. Dr Elsa and her office provides free dental cleanings and all other treatments are done at cost.
